In this article the author talks about how we are going from an "information age" to a "connected age." They also talk about how today's MOOC's represent a starting point for experimentation in leveraging technology to increase access to education. MIT's Eric Grimson focused on a few of the most significant challenges facing higher education. He talks about how today's students are totally different than before and how much technology has changed over the years. The 2013 Sprint talks about the pressures of trying to kept up with this new age and technology. It also talks about how MOOC could generate millions of dollars in revenue if the provider charged for access. Also they talk about a trend where students have more access to the personal records and education.
In ways I agree with this article. Technology is becoming a very important aspect of our learning this day and age. The idea of MOOC is merely broadcasting a lecture to a massive number of students. Using this idea would allow students who are more advanced to finish before students who take longer to learn certain subjects. I also like the idea that students would have more access to their school and personal information. The statement "Moving from the information age to the connected age." makes a lot of sense. Today we are just learning information, but with MOOC students would be more connected through technology and learning.
